Using foil wrap:
Leave on until you get home, or 1-2 hours approximately.
Take off the foil and gently clean the tattoo with a PH-neutral soap (preferably from a pump for hygienic purposes).
Apply a very thin layer of aftercare cream. Anything from the Balm brand is advised, or regular/baby Bepanthen (do NOT use the tattoo cream!).
Only re-wrap the first night with clean, clear foil wrap if desired. This is not necessary but advised with bigger tattoos or tattoos with a lot of black.
Do not wrap your tattoo with anything else than clean and clear cling wrap for the first day. Absolutely not longer if not necessary. So please no old socks, bandages, bandaids, long tight sleeves with fuzzy fabrics, etc. Only if you work or are in a dirty environment are you allowed to use clear cling wrap or clean, smooth long sleeves.
Wash your tattoo 2 times per day (morning, evening) with the PH-neutral soap and use a small layer of aftercare. If the tattoo is very dry you can apply another very thin layer of aftercare. Repeat this for a minimum of 2 weeks after getting your tattoo.
Longer is advised and good for the skin. I also highly recommend you use an SPF50 for UV protection!
Avoid picking at and scratching your new tattoo, even if it itches. Always wash your hands before touching your new tattoo.
Avoid tanning, sunbathing, swimming and visiting saunas for at least 6 weeks.
Avoid tight clothing and fabrics like wool, fleece, etc for the first 1 to 2 weeks.
Avoid sweating in/around the area too much as well as contact sports for the first 1 to 2 weeks.
If you work in an environment with dirt/dust or blood/bodily fluids, preferably ask for second skin in this case, if possible. Otherwise you are allowed to wrap the tattoo again with clear foil wrap. Cleaning it in between and re-wrapping it if you have to wear it for a longer time. You can also wear longer sleeves in this case.
Wait 6 weeks to fully heal your tattoo. You can then send me a photo to see if the tattoo needs a retouch.
Using second skin:
Check if you have any sensitivity or allergies to band-aids. If in doubt, we can always apply a tiny piece of second skin to the tattoo during the process and see the reaction.
The second skin should ideally stay on for 5 days. If the edges peel off too much or it simply won’t stick on, this is no issue. You can continue caring for the tattoo like with foil wrap.
The best way to take off the second skin is in the shower, peeling away from the edges to the middle. The second skin will stretch and you can get some water under it to make it easier to peel off.
After this you will continue caring for the tattoo for a minimum of 2 weeks after the day of getting your tattoo.

This is free if I decide the tattoo does in fact need a retouch, you let me know within 3 months of getting tattooed and if you show up to the first free retouch appointment. Later retouches, no-showing/cancelling, retouches deemed unnecessary, will require a fee to be paid for the retouch.
